You’ve been thinking about giving your home décor a new look, but decorating projects seem so intimidating and take a lot of time. That’s just not true! We have three home décor projects that you can easily finish in just one weekend:
Revive Your Furniture: It can be tempting to buy all new furniture when redecorating your home. Why not revive the furniture you already own? A fresh coat of paint can breathe new life into a chair or dresser. Chalk paint is a great option that comes in a variety of colors and is easy to work with. Use a solid color or elevate the piece further by painting a design with a paint pen. If the furniture item has hardware, why not change that up as well? In the end, you will have a brand new piece of furniture that only took a day to revamp! You can find tips on how to paint furniture here.
Create an Accent Wall: A single-colored room can of course be stylish. By adding a splash of color or design to a single wall in any room, you are making a big, bold impact! It’s also quick and inexpensive. To create the accent wall, decide if you would like to use paint or temporary wallpaper then choose a color. Whatever color you choose should work well with other home décor pieces in the room to avoid clashing. If prints and patterns excite you, you can stencil them onto a wall or again turn to temporary wallpaper. Use vertical stripes to make your ceiling seem to taller or horizontal stripes to make the room appear larger! Additional ideas for accent walls can be found here.
Enhance Your Windows: A bright, warm-lit room can lift anyone’s spirits. However, letting light stream through open windows can cut down on your privacy. Luckily, you don’t have to give up one for the other! Applying patterned window film allows plenty of light to pour into a room, but still provides privacy. The film is easy to apply to any window, so you can finish the project in just a few hours! Window film is also incredibly versatile and can be used for many projects like the ones here.
